Summer is a time of great joy, when a lot of people have off from school and working adults find time to take vacations. Whether you are working or not, summer definitely feels different than the other seasons, and there is a relaxing presence in the air. If you are a gardener, then this is the time to do some summer-specific gardening tasks that you don't do during the other seasons of the year.
Certain vegetables are specifically suited for especially warm weather, including radishes, beetroot, turnips, and spinach swede. While I am not a fan of any of these plants, there are many people who love them in salads and other similar dishes. If you are a fan of these foods, then the time to start planting these crops is in July, and they will be fully mature between the end of summer and the beginning of autumn.
You should also consider pruning some of your plants that have excessively long branches. This is more the case with trees, but many people do have trees around their garden that must be tended to.
If you are a flower gardener, and you certainly should have at least a few flowers in your garden, you should pick the bulbs from the stems of flowers that feature them, and then plant those to create even more flowers. And if there are any shoots on your flowers that are non-flowering, you should cut them off to give your garden more space, and you can use that material as compost for your other plants.
The specific tasks you need to complete really depends on your personal garden, and in the case you do not have some of the plants mentioned above, you obviously cannot do those things. What matters is that you just do what you can to ensure the survival and thriving of your garden.
